Mibook | 13 comments Hi everyone.

I've been looking for this book I've read a few years ago. It's about a heroine (I don't remember her name) that leaves her childhood sweetheart (the hero) and her family after something tragic happened to her but she doesn't tell them why or what happened. She becomes a successful women, I think se becomes an actress and returns home years later to find the hero still mad at her for leaving him and her family and becoming a snob.
It's a contemporary romance.
Thank you!!

Mibook | 13 comments No it's not Jilted but it's basically the same plot except that she didn't just leave the hero but she left her family too. She was raped by a group of boys, I think. The hero is still close to her family and he's really mad at her for leaving them since her dad got sick (heart attack I think)..

Did you read a paper book, ebook, other format? Author female or male? Remember the cover? Series or standalone?

Nela (nelikne) | 472 comments Maybe Crossing the Line by Kele Moon? Don't know if she was raped (I didn't read it), but given what others said about the plot she was (view spoiler)....

Mibook | 13 comments I read it in e-book format and it was written by a female author.
It's not crossing the line though it's really similar.

Mibook, what year did you read this book? This will help narrow down the search.

Hometown location - U.S./country, region, big city/small town? Time period?

Can you tell us more about the hero - his job, hobbies, rich/poor, family business, etc.?

message 10: by Mibook (new)

Mibook | 13 comments I can't exactly remember which year. It was between 2013 and 2016.
I think the heroine went back home because her dad got sick/had a heart attack.
The hero is very close to her family and is mad at her for leaving them. At one stage in the book they were having a family dinner where the hero stood up and angrily asked if everyone was just going to ignore the way the heroine left a few years back.
It's set in a modern time period. I really can't remember much more about the hero.

Angela | 628 comments It doesn't sound completely right, but I figure I'll mention it just in case. Nobody's Angel (Willow Park, #1) by Sarah Hegger Nobody's Angel by Sarah Hegger?

Mibook, the bump period for this group is 30 days because the group is so large.

Coincidentally we were looking for the same book.
