I'm a couple of chapters in. I read the physical book for the first novel then listened to the audiobook for the second. This third book has the same narrator for the audiobook and I just can't handle him anymore. I'm switching to just the physical book.
First impression is that this book is so high octane! I'm a little stressed out with the tension and big action. I hope it settles down a little here soon or I may need a Xanax.

I'm starting this today (in the physical format) so I'm very interested to see what's going to go down in the first few chapters now!

It's good. You'll be surprised at a few things! I've already finished all three within the last two years and I quite enjoyed them. I'm planning on going away for a couple weeks next summer and I'm on the hunt for some decent audiobooks.
Not sure if others will agree with me here, but I was slightly let down by this last installment. This was not because of its predictability, necessarily, but more of the fact that, again, pressure is put on Jacob as the all-out hero kid with, yet another, special ability (the only one who can do this amazing thing that will save everyone). I just thought there were too many new character introductions, the addition of the photographs was too obvious and forced and some of the events seemed thrown in just to build up suspense when it wasn't really needed. Plus, this last installment was so long (too long, actually). Why do some authors feel the need to drag things out? I did like the idea of the library. That was very intriguing but I just thought it was another way to put pressure on Jacob to be special. It did have its upsides though. Some of the action scenes were very intense and I liked how the book started off with a bang, drawing me right back in to the story. This could have easily been about 100 pages shorter and done the same thing, maybe even bringing my rating up one star (to three). I really struggled with staying focused on this one, thinking, "Get on with it already." Looking forward to what others think.
I have to agree with the majority here. The book felt too long-winded and not that exciting. Some of the photographs felt like they were forced into the story just so they could be used.
I liked the trilogy overall, but definitely felt like this book was a let-down, and not the conclusion I wanted for the series and characters.
I gave it three stars in the end.

I really enjoyed this series and I think that the pictures were a nice addition, adding something to the reading experience. I also found that the book was a brilliant blend of humour and action with a few interesting characters, such as a talking dog, thrown in for good measure. I didn’t think that this book was too long but this could well have been due to the fact that I was reading it alongside writing an assignment and it was acting as a welcome break (the assignment was a real struggle). I did however, feel that it was tied up too well at the end, with the only thing not being tied up, being a lack of proof that Fiona was dead. There was one point when I was worried over Jacob’s fate but then Miss Peregrine and the gang turned up and saved the day.

On an additional note, I always imagine the Hollows as looking like Venonats, but bigger, invisible and having more tongues.
