Started this morning. Every time there's a scene with Inys I just want more.

Only read the first couple of chapters but frustrated because I have to go out for a few hours!

He burned a city full of women and children in book one. There really had never been any redemption for him. I guess there is the factor of not seeing your victims like a squadron bomber pilot but he saw the woman on the wall in Vanai.

At this point it's just going to come down to who is going to kill him for his crimes. .

I always says people hating strong personality traits of themselves in others and that a persons greatest strength is often also their greatest weakness. Example, somebody who's detail orientated can also be so pedantic it causes them to react slowly especially in a crisis situation.

I'm done. Fabulous ending. I think he left himself some outs to continue the series or start a new one in the same world.

I know Inys was a threat but I honestly felt bad for him and felt his betrayal. I felt like Marcus should have had more compassion for somebody who understood grief. If he did another series based on Inys vs Marcus Stormcrow I'd be all-in. I loved the dragon's character. Him eating the healer was a bit of a shock.

You know I wasn't buying Geder sacrificing himself completely until he looked at the priests and said (paraphrasing) the secret is nobody fucking laughs at me! What a great scene and line.

I didn't buy Kit was dead. Great epilogue.

Loved Clara's ending as well. She needed to thumb her nose at society and what an awesome line from Vincern saying why would you ask her (expect her) to live with less courage than you?

I got to 50% and was really enjoying it. I had a few other books to finish up and wanted to give the last half my undivided attention. That was 2 days ago! Tomorrow I'm devoting the day to it. Sorry it hasn't been much of a buddy read (for you!). Glad it ends well...

No you had all the early posts. I'm excited that we stuck it out and did an entire 5 book series from start to finish.

The last 80 pages are simply awesome.

Geders chapter 74% it's absolutely cringeworthy Geder thinking about Cithrin!

I did too. Two things we know about Geder he wants to be loved and he doesn't like feeling like he's being laughed at.

Done! Loved it! What a fantastic series.....can't wait for the next series starting March? I think I may try some of his urban fantasy in the meantime..
