In this episode, Meredith, Susan, Tara, and Jeannette have some announcements - some sad, some happy - including a NEW reading challenge! Yes, that's right, we've got another one!

They also wrap up 2016 with their favorite topics of the year, topics they missed, and which Eclectic Readers books they loved most this year. The stars then aligned for a discussion of Romina Russell's Zodiac. Were there any favorite topics or books which we missed or anything we should cover in the future? Did you have a favorite Eclectic Readers book this year? Or maybe you just want to tell us how excited you are for our newest game? Do it now!

Megan (meganbrinckerhoff) I think the mad libs is going to be so much fun. I have so much reading planning to do! The Litsy Reading Challenge (in BINGO format), the Mad Libs, and soon we'll be planning our 2017 BINGO with the group. I'm going to have to work to make books overlap between challenges!

I'd have to say my favorite bookclub book of the year is easily Station Eleven, which is also one of my favorite books I read this year. And I'm so bummed I ended up missing the discussion on Blankets, I really enjoyed the book and I thought the podcast was great so I'm sure our discussion was great.

And if someone picked Margaret Atwood's new book Hag-Seed you could do an entire episode about Shakespeare. Unfortunately, I have already picked out my book for next year ;)

I'd also like to note that during bookgroup I brought up that I thought Mathias would possibly come back from the dead and be evil - Peeta style. Everything said, #TeamMathias!

You are way prepared, Megan! I picked out my book, and I keep forgetting what I picked, so I come up with a bunch of new options, and then remember what I picked. I have crazy.

Apologies for not acknowledging your Mathias prediction! My connection was poor that night, but you win for predicting things before our podcast does. I still think it's a great prediction, and would be super interesting. I also keep thinking though that it would be really funny if Hysan turns out to be not evil and Mathias turns out to be irredeemably evil and we are semi-terrible at predicting things.

There are so many reading challenges. I was tweeting about this the other day. I'm obviously doing Mad Libs (and I'll keep updating my progress on the Goodreads thread) and Book Bingo, but I also want to do the two Litsy challenges. It's just too many books. But I wanna! :-)

Well, after the disaster of my last pick, (which wasn't that bad - we had a good discussion!!!) I wanted to put more thought into next years book and every time I hear about a book that I think might be good for bookclub I write it down. So I have quite a few to pick from but I'm about 90% sure of which one I will ultimately go with. :)

I also probably missed your prediction because I was busy feeding 2 children. I am definitely going to stick with Ochus taking over Mathias' body. Although, realistically, I want him to stay dead.

I'm going to make an initial list but will change it once I see what books the other members will choose that month. I'm still kind of on the fence about Book Bingo though... we'll see what changes they have made for the new year.

I bet Hagseed would make a good book club pick, hmm. We'll see what I'm in the mood for once it's time for me to pick again, which I don't think is until May or June.
