SamZ (samwisezbrown) Many of you voted for having a group challenge so you have something to work on even when/if the Book of the Month doesn't appeal or isn't available to you. With that in mind, and since this is 2017, I thought we could have a challenge to read 17 books in the following categories. You do NOT have to read them in order, and however strict you want to be with following the rules is up to you. When you finish a book, please post under the accompanying discussion what book you read and how you liked it, as well as answering the progress questions.
I will be creating folders for each topic over the next few days. They will be locked until January, since that is officially when our challenge begins.
Please feel free to ask any questions below, as well.

Love this! Thanks!

Katrina Lybbert | 72 comments This is great! I have pretty much chosen all my books for the challenge too. Will participate in the Book of the Month as well when I can.

Kimberly | 14 comments This looks fantastic! I have most of my books picked out as well. I can't wait for 2017 to begin!

Christi | 50 comments What a great idea! Will you have a "master list" of all 17 books somewhere? I get my books from the library so I like to get them in advanced if I can :)

SamZ (samwisezbrown) Ok, I have unlocked and added discussion questions to all of the topics. Just drop by when you've finished a book and answer the quick questions and let us know what you've read!

SamZ (samwisezbrown) -->D.L. I love YA! I especially loved Austenland! Glad to have you with us for the challenge!

If you go to the home page and scroll down to the bottom of the discussions, there is a little link on the right (above events) that says "more discussions." If you click on that, you will be able to see the section called "From Authors" and you can start a topic in that folder for you novel!

Katrina Lybbert | 72 comments Well I don't know if many people are still checking this group as it has been pretty quiet, but I have completed 10 of the 17 books. I don't know why I couldn't fit more into the categories when I will have read 107 books this year. But anyway, I am going to continue to read the other 7 books from this challenge as I have started most of them. I will just keep going till I have read them all. They should be completed in the early half of 2018.

Kerrie I managed all but 1 topic - the book that got me into loving reading. It was Lord of the rings trilogy. Ran out of time to read them. I really hope similar challenge will happen for 2018 as opened my mind to different types of books.
