Jordyn Beard | 6 comments In the last section of Breaking Beautiful, we start to realize some very important pieces of information that lead us to the cause of the accident, including all of the terrible thing that her boyfriend, Trip, did to her. Allie has a brother named Andrew who really seems to be her best friend. In the last chapter, it flashes back to the day the accident happened, when Allie was going to the catillion with Trip, Her brother says something along the lines of "Don't let him hurt you anymore" because her brother is the only one who knows about the abuse. It then comes to the present day, where her brother andrew says that he cut the brake lines in Trip's truck, which is the reason why the accident happened. He said, "I did not mean to kill him, I just wanted to give him the same feeling of helplessness that he often gives you" Allie was too scared to say something to anyone, so her brother wanted to help. A lot of times, especially in high school, abuse happens but people are too scared to say anything or to get out it. I think the theme of this book definitely ties into the thought a lot of people would do anything to help the ones they love. I thought this book was definitely a cliche, teenage girl kind of a book but I did not really expect the ending! I hoped that the ending would have made Allie like the hero, but ultimately I enjoyed the story because I could relate to some of the things she was going through!

Allison | 6 comments That seems like a crazy ending. I can't believe that her brother would go to such lengths to get back at her boyfriend.
