SamZ (samwisezbrown) Go to your "to-read" shelf and pick up the 17th book there. If you're like me, it may need to be dusted off before you begin ;)

- What are you reading this week?
- Were you happy with that choice, or did you hate that it was already picked for you?
- Is this book a stand alone book, or in the middle of a series?
- How many times do you think you've looked at this book on your list and said "maybe later"?
- How was the book?

Baker's Magic by Diane Zahler

Very happy!

- Is this book a stand alone book, or in the middle of a series?

This is a stand alone book, but after reading it I wish there could be a series.

- How many times do you think you've looked at this book on your list and said "maybe later"?

It was less of passing by the book, but rather waiting for a copy to be available at our library so I could read it. The greatest thing was that when I got the book, it was very obvious that I was the very first person to crack it open.

- How was the book?

The book was amazing. It is written for middle grade students, but I have always loved magical stories and retold fairy tales. This author has retold fairy tales that I have previously read. This particular book is a very original story and super creative.

Catherine Peel | 21 comments What are you reading this week? I read A Chalice of Wind by Cate Tiernan

- Were you happy with that choice, or did you hate that it was already picked for you? I didn't mind having it picked for me but it was hard to get into it because I was thinking about all the other books farther up the list I wanted to read.

- Is this book a stand alone book, or in the middle of a series? It was the beginning of a series.

- How many times do you think you've looked at this book on your list and said "maybe later"? I don't really remember looking at it and am not really sure when I decided I wanted to read it.

- How was the book? Overall it was pretty good, I was able to get it from the library but then the library didn't have the rest of the books and I didn't like it enough to buy the other books in the series.

Serenity | 9 comments Confession: I don't have 17 books on my to read list!! So I read that's been sitting on my kindle for at least a year and called it good--The Paper Magician by Charlie Holmberg. The first of a trilogy. I really enjoyed it. The world building was enthralling; the imagination it provoked was rewarding in itself. The characters were fun and with some romance, i love a little romance. I think I'm just going to leave it at this one though, all that I'm hearing about the second two books is that they are a major let down after this one. Fortunately, this one easily stands alone. Read it!!

Kerrie 17th on my list was "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. I was ok with choice as was one of those books that's a once i'm in the mood. I honestly missed why people love the book. I get the point behind the story but to me they were just nasty people. Glad i was pushed to read it.
