Time to Vote for the March tag

Ha ha! But how funny would it be if we all had to read Star Wars books?. I didn't vote for it but I would be amused if it wins
Uhm. I voted, but I'm afraid I will have to pass if my tag doesn't win, it was the only one I had the tiniest bit of interest in.I agree with Nicole that they seem crazy random tags, lol! (Just kidding, hey)
Well, at least making a decision was easy this time but I did hesitate for a second over the Star Wars choice!! ;-) No worries, I picked something more March appropriate.
Anita- I am actually very content that we are voting early and the tag will be announced ahead of schedule, too. It gives me more time to plan and look for options through the library if need be. I wouldn't mind voting early every month. :-) Enjoy your vacation or out of town plans.

J.W. wrote: "This might be the worst set of three tags I have seen in my history with PBT. Yuck."Blame the randomizer. And possibly the expanded list of tags . . .for some reason, we got some very high numbers this time. Except for Star Wars which was the 67th most popular go figure.

Thank you, Lisa Ann. For being both accommodating and for not voting for Star Wars ;)
March - St Patrick's Day - Ireland Appropriate, but if this is the tag it might make it harder to get the more popular books from the library ........ maybe

Lol, they are most certainly random! But you know, the whole point of PBT is to expand your reading horizons, so you know, we all may have to dig deep this month ;).
I will even read a Star Wars book if it comes down to it. Please may it not come down to it.

You won't think it is funny when I unilaterally strip you of your voting rights.
(KIDDING!!!! I probably would find it funny to have to read a Star Wars book. I would do it. Unhappily, but I would!)
Anita, when it comes to not having to read Star Wars, may the force be with you.See what I did there?!? ;)

HA HA HA!!! That's great :)

Without checking, I have a feeling books such as The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher have been tagged under Star Wars by readers. That may be why it is one of the more popular tags currently.

Haven't voted yet, but you know you will have no problem with me, Anita! I think more than a few folks chose Ireland for stairs, so this will be good for them. I'm very sure we can each find a great read. There is always Maeve Binchy to rely upon.
Just voted. 10 pages and not one book is cross matched with my TBR, but I will find something. Brooklyn? I didn't even bother looking for matches with military history...
I have to admit that I love this month's random selection of tags to vote on. The whole point of PBT is to make us explore categories we don't typically read and I'm guessing these three fit as not typical for most of us.

That just seems so unlikely a pick for our group . . .

Nope, nope. No AWOL allowed, lol. If I'm reading Star Wars, everyone is reading Star Wars.

I guess I just angered management, lol, because I voted for Star Wars with all of my 10 points. I have a few good recommendations if it wins so don't hurt me. :D
I have to say, Star Wars seems like fun! It would be extremely amusing and I would willingly participate. Not exactly something I would vote for though ...
Nicole wrote: "I have to say, Star Wars seems like fun! It would be extremely amusing and I would willingly participate. Not exactly something I would vote for though ..."Lol. I think that's how most others feel too. I have a feeling I may be the only one who voted/will vote for it. I tend to go against the grain in this group, lol.
As the self- appointed ultimate PBT devotee, while I'd make my abject suffering and distaste clearly known, I would read something Star Wars with a group of other grumblers. Maybe I'd even find myself surprised.... Jenni, ya never know. You threw your ten points at it, I didn't even go father than just my free point for Ireland. Which there has to be more than one decent read for...
Just in case Stars Wars is the winner, some of you may try out The Star wars series done by Quirk Books. They redo the story in the style of Shakespeare. All of the books are pretty short.
I really want to read Carrie Fisher's book and it is indeed tagged as "star wars" 79 times. Last month was the first time I used more than my free vote (I'm pretty sure) and then I realized I have read many of the "quirky" books on the list! I kind of prefer not to vote and just go with the crowd.

Thanks for the recommendation, Sarah. I placed a hold on William Shakespeare's Star Wars: Verily, A New Hope and I am next in line. Just in case!

Oddly and coincidentally, I am midway through The Princess Diarist right now. Never would have occurred to me that Star Wars might be a potential tag. If only I had held off a few more weeks .... grumble ......grumble

Love you Jenni even if I end up swearing at you all March long and mysteriously losing your participation points in a computer catastrophe.

What fun would it be if everyone voted the same?
I think I know what will win this month, and that is how I voted also. Please let it not be Star Wars. I hadn't even seen any of the movies until last year when we watched the original three getting "moviecated". I did notice Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption was on the military history list- but I'm pretty sure most of us have read it already.
I adore Star Wars but can't imagine spending an entire month reading books tagged as such.I'd be thrilled with either of the other two, but I'm really pulling for one since I'm doing a lot of reading on that subject anyway this year.

Ha ha ha! I'll forgive you if that happens... ;)
Anita wrote: "Jen wrote: "Did you read the fine print, Jen? You have a lot of participation points. You wouldn't want them to mysteriously be deleted, never to be seen again, would you? ;) ..."LOL! Oh, that made me laugh!
Anita wrote: "I will even read a Star Wars book if it comes down to it. Please may it not come down to it...."Agreed and agreed! I would read one, but hopefully not necessary... :-)
Now having read the rest of the comments, if Star Wars was to win, I wonder how many of us will be reading Carrie Fisher's bio..,? I like biographies, though that would be a tough one to get from the library right now, I bet.

Let me guess; Military History?

Actually, Ireland. We are going to Ireland this summer so I'm doing a lot of reading on the country's history. But, no, I won't cry if it is military history. :-)
Ladyslott wrote: "Carrie Fisher has a number of memoirs, although the only one specific to Star Wars would be the latest in The Princess Diarist..."Ah, thank you! I bet they're all tagged with the tag, though. If that was the case, I'd probably see which (if any!) was available at the librayr.
Voted....there were a lot of interesting books in each category, but I'm pretty sure it won't be Star Wars. Military history had a lot more choice than I expected when I clicked on it. I can't believe it won't be Ireland and March is a good month to read that tag.

Please vote for the tag you would most like to read for February at the following link:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KR2GJ3F
You may click on the answer choices in the survey to see a listing of books that fit each tag.
Remember, you may cast up to a total of 10 participation points for your choice. Everyone gets one vote for free so please vote even if you don't have any participation points!
You can see how many participation points you currently have in the spreadsheet below.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Happy voting! Please cast your votes by 12 pm EST on 02/22. We are doing everything a little bit early because I'm headed out of town on the 27th . . .so even the tag announcement is going to be a tad early. It's a short month, and I don't want to foist my responsibilities onto poor Nicole two months in a row.
Note: If no one choice receives more than 50% of the vote, people who chose the least popular choice will be asked to recast their votes for one of the remaining two options.
Fine print: If you choose one of these three tags, I may have to mysteriously lose track of all your participation points. Ok, just kidding, but you better have a good recommendation for me at least. You really don't want to anger the management.
