As you might have heard, the publisher for the books closed. I'm working towards republishing independently later this year after finishing up a current project. I will be doing some editing (no changes to plot lines, characters, etc, just some maintenance on the writing).

I've also considered tweaking the covers a little. I'd love to get your opinion on the covers and whether or not you think they need a little changeup? Please be honest!

message 2: by Karis (new)

Karis Claire, I love the covers for your Rise of Aredor series! Don't change them!

message 3: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 5 comments Yeah, those covers are good. Made me want to read your books, after all.

message 4: by Karis (new)

Karis Judging a book by its cover, Kendra. *shakes head* Shame, shame, shame

LOL But I do think that seeing the covers did spur me to jump in and sign up to read them. That and the fact that they had so many good reviews written by a lot of my GR friends.

I really like them the way they are, Claire.

Kendra Ardnek | 5 comments I love a pretty cover. Sue me.

LOL I'd have to include myself and that would be a pretty mess.

Hehe! I'm the same. :)

Thanks, guys! I like the covers too. My reasoning for maybe tweaking them was because I've had people ask at Cons and at signings if they were books about animals (like the warrior cat books) to which I'm like eh, not really. :P

message 9: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Ardnek | 5 comments Yeah, I can see that. I will admit that I was disappointed when there were no knife-wielding falcons in the first one.

Yeah. Tragically not.... :)

Sarah Grace Grzy (sarahgraceg) I really love the covers too! That was what made me want to read them in the first place . . . xD I especially love the Wildcat of Braeton one. ;)

True, I could see why you'd get that. My siblings have asked the same thing when they saw me reading my copies. But I would still stick with the current covers.

Thanks for being my little focus group, guys. :) I appreciate the feedback. This makes me feel a little better about the covers. Also, I'm pretty lazy and trying to figure out cover design on top of everything seems like a ton of work. You didn't hear me say that. :P

Hey guys! I've finished my first read-through of Wildcat of Braeton for the 2nd ed. Some of you beta read Aredor for me. If anyone would like to do the same for Wildcat, I'd love to have you. ALTHOUGH - it's going to have a shorter deadline. Like by the end of the first week of July. Possibly the second week. So, if people are really good at reading ridiculously long books in that short of time, let me know. I'm going through it again this week and addressing the last few little things.
If no one can, don't worry about it. WoB didn't need as much work as RoA did. :)

Also, the reason for the shorter deadline is because I think I'm pretty well on track to release both of them sometime in August. :)

Hey, Claire. Thanks for this update. I was wondering when you planned to release the books.

I would love to beta read the Wildcat of Braeton for you. I know I was one of the later ones to get make with you on the Rise of Aredor, but I'm actually a fast reader and do enjoy reading long books :P And I won't be as busy as I was last time with beta reading several books at once. You have my email address, I believe, right?

@Karis - yes, ma'am! I should be getting it to you by the end of the week! Thanks so much!

message 20: by Karis (new)

Karis No, problem! I can't wait ;)

message 21: by Sarah Grace (new)

Sarah Grace Grzy (sarahgraceg) That's awesome Claire! Unfortunately I can't beta read this time either. :( But I am super excited for the August release! Praying that the republishing goes well. :)

Ok guys! Some of you might have heard, but The Rise of Aredor is formatted and ready to go and The Wildcat of Braeton will be ready by next week. I'll be ordering proofs and making sure everything is good to go inbetween a writer's conference and moving! :P But I'm still anticipating a mid-late August re-release! If you want to help me with the re-launch, keep an eye on my blog over the next few weeks! :)

Hey, guys!
The re-launch tour ends today. But I got that short story up yesterday if you don't follow my blog. :) And I just put up a post about what's next for the Aredor universe. Also taking recs for character short stories. (I know some of you have already made suggestions, but I'd love to hear them!)

Oh, I can't wait to read it, Claire. I saw it in my inbox last night, but I didn't have time to read then. ;)

Hello lovely peeps! I'm doing some marketing/branding stuff right now, and doing some research on target audience, and wondered if any of you would like to/be able to answer some questions for me! Asking in here since you all have read/and mostly loved the books. ;)
Email me at cmbanschbach@gmail.com if you can. I'd also like to get a fairly quick turnaround on this, and possibly even do a video/audio chat with you! Lemme know!
