Rosebud (rosebuds) I am looking for a book that I haven't been able to locate through exhausting various other searches, lists, genre ID, or by asking many other friends to see if it rings a bell. Hoping the sleuths in this group can FINALLY identify it for me.

Basic story line as remembered:
Paranormal. Male vampire hero and female human heroine. Adult content Romance. Zombies included in story line.

Zombie outbreak results when people start dying and changing into zombies. Heroine was able to collect supplies and hide in the attic of her house (I think she was at first with her brother or friend and then when collecting further supplies he was turned into zombie and she was forced to kill him).

After doing this for a few weeks, one night she hears helicopters, climbs on the roof, and is rescued by vampires. She learns actually at that moment that vampires are real and exist. Hero vampire is injured and she gives him blood experiencing an erotic experience during giving blood and they form connection. Turns out vampires are rescuing remaining healthy people and providing them food, shelter and protection in exchange for blood.

Come to find out there is war between two vampires fractions and one side released some virus to convert humans to zombies so that there is no food left for the other side. People were deliberately infected so that vampires have limited source of food and eventually no food source (I think that all this is happening in England but not sure; this is how it was explained that virus will not spread further around the world, or something similar like that).

Vampires provide healthy humans with shelter and food in exchange for blood. In this trailer town (where people are now living) there are some that are not happy with this arrangement and are causing some trouble. If I remember correctly, one of the guys is interested with our heroine and is not happy that she is involved with vampire...

Some more details: hero vampire is courting the heroine who received her own small trailer (lends to steamy scenes); they go for walks and talk a lot; she makes friends with other ladies involved with vampires and also female vampires; they collect fabulous shoes; vampires also collect all things necessary for humans on their rescue missions. I don't know if it is part of series, but for sure does not end with cliffhanger.....

This book may be about 7 years ago or so but for sure it's not a recent release.

Anyone help me FINALLY identify this elusive book

Thanks to any who can help.

Ok Rosebud, I have to say--I have no idea what this book is, but when it's found I intend to get a copy.

You did check with some of the PNR groups here on line, right? There are a bunch of them--some specific to a single author (Gena Showalter, J.R. Ward, Patricia Briggs for examples) so they probably won't be a lot of help (unless your book was written by their particular author) but there are enough others that are just fans of the genre in general. If you haven't checked with them and one of those groups DOES ID your book, be sure to come back over and let us know who wrote it, since I'm sure you'll have others (besides me) who want it, just because they haven't seen that particular trope before.

Thanks for all your very helpful hints and other ways to identify.
Yes, I've reached out to various sources and actually, most have said when I do identify the title to forward it to them as they would like to read it too.

Can we eliminate The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa?

What was the heroine's job before she was rescued by vampires?

Sounds like no werewolves, shifters, fae/fairies, angels, or witches?

You're welcome. I also do quick Google searches that use book reviews on Amazon:

Google -- site:www.awazon.com "must-contain-this-exact-phrase" similar-to-this-term--no-quotes

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Ann, do you like the "humans kept as blood resources for vampires" theme? Because there's another book that's like this, dunno the name - but it has not human/vampire romance.

I don't think it was zombies, but there was a virus released (giant?) that made human blood unusable. So the vampires take over the whole planet, and cage up the humans.

Blood is strictly regulated and distributed, and only high-status vampires get to take it directly from the neck of humans. The lower-caste get their blood delivered via tubes.

And then someone infects the supply...
