I really enjoy these books, but sometimes they run a little dry of action. I also don't like Aelin or Rowan, but I loved the original characters, especially Celaena.

What do you think of this series? Do you like the direction it's heading in?

I haven't read it yet but it's high on my TBR pile

I really loved it! I've only read the first two books so... but what I've read so far was good! this was also the first book ever I've read in English for fun! I usually read everything in my first language but when I heard everyone about this series I just had to read it! didn't matter if it was in English I just had to and I really liked it!

I've read the first 4 books in the series, and I love it. Manon is by far my favorite character. Throne of Glass is the weakest of the series, imo, but that's because she initially wrote it when she was 16. That being said, my love for her A Court of Thorns and Roses series exceeds ToG.

Dark fantasy all the way! (The majority of my comfort reads are dark fantasy books)

I liked the first 4 books especially 2nd and 4th. I didnt like the 5th book mainly because of character development of few characters especially Aelin and rowan. Also bcoz of some gross romanace between some characters. I dont understand why every character in the book needs to be in romantic relationship.
Caelena was my favorite character in the book, she had a sassy charm to her. But Aelin is unbearable. I dont like the overly arrogant behaviour of Aelin and Rowan in newer books.

Ok so wait do you just not like Aelin and Rowan as a couple because you said you liked Calaena and Celaena and Aelin are... I won't say because it is kind of a spoiler.

Yes same, except my favorite character isn't Manon. My favorite character is Dorian.

And yeah, I also don't really like Rowaelin lol.

I love this series, especially Celaena, Chaol, and Dorian, the original three characters. The only thing I wish is that Celaena stayed with (view spoiler)[Chaol instead of trying to kill him when Nehemia died. I get that he was aware of the threat made against her, but Celaena loved him, so why ruin two relationships? (hide spoiler)]
