I just have to say: You like The Smiths?! My mom is obsessed with them! What's your favorite song by them? She likes the band Cake too! She loves 80's and 90's music, but especially 90's music from when she was a teenager. Okay I'm leaving now.
blue - Brilliant! Hope you enjoy the rest of your day! :D Elizabeth - YES! My mother introduced me to The Smiths when I was eight and I love This Charming Man, What Difference Does it Make?, Panic, aaaaand. . . hm, Ask. ^.^ Cake is amazing! 80s music rock! XD What? Noooo. Don't go. ; )
Blue - *takes a deep breath* THE SMITHS ARE AN AMAZING BAND THAT YOU MUST LISTEN TO! If you like The Smiths, listen to The Cure. ^.^ *nod nod*Elizabeth - Wow! That's amazing! There are a few songs I don't really care for but the rest are definitely amazing! XD
Ah okay sorry I got confused because my last name is Smith. And I was like whaaa? XD sorry i'll check them out :))
Haha! XD I made a character named Archer Smith. ;-) Oh! Well, I you're wondering which album to start, I highly suggest The Sound of The Smiths. Though I don't like the fact they changed the tune for What Difference Does it Make?, all the other songs are amazing!

Ooooh. That movie that I've only seen in commercials, gotcha! How is it? It is your favorite but I just want to know if it's good. :-)
Eh, I just get the feeling we won't have a lot in common. You seem to like more retro things, and I'm into really modern stuff. And the old-fashioned stuff I like is REAL old-fashioned.
Masi - WHAT?!?! Masi! Please don't go! Unless it concerns something of the utter importance then of course, but please don't feel you aren't appreciated, Masi. I know we haven't really talked that much, but you seem like a good person. :-)
Well my favorite time period in American history is the Great Depression. I like seeing how even in those times people still managed to have hope and optimism, and I really relate to that. My late great-grandmother said the true Christian spirit endured those dark days. I liked the Edo Period in Japan, which was the 1600's to about 1860. It gave birth to many of the traditions we know and love today from Japan, like flower-arranging, woodblock art, songs and dances, calligraphy, poetry, and ghost stories. And of course those beautiful kimonos!
And I love the Russian Empire, which existed from the 1740's-1918. It was so beautiful and glamorous, and Russia helped many nations like Latvia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia become rich, modernized, and cultured. They wore their beautiful traditional clothes all the time, especially in Central Asia! Oh, if I could pick only one time period to go back to it would be this one in a nutshell!
I'm sorry I rambled a bit but I love history!
Oh no! I love learning all sorts of things in History! ^.^ Like how Patrick Henry said when asked why he didn't go to the convention when the Constitution was written, "I smell a rat." I will have to go back and see if that was what he actually said though. XD I love learning the secrets of what they don't tell you in your typical history book. :-)
Oh! There's this show called Kurt Seyit aaaaand Shura (that's now it's pronounced but her name is spelled differently in Russian). So the show's about these two and their lives during 1912 or the early 1900s. It's a very interesting show and technically we were learning History in the process.
Almost all of the books I plan to write take place in nations owned by the Russian Empire since I think that needs to be explored more. Even the people from those nations don't write very much about their nation's time in the Russian Empire. My debut novel is going to be a retelling of Les Miserables set in 1863 Lithuania when it was owned by the Russian Empire during a famous uprising.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for those then. I love reading books that are from any kind of time period. Oh! Have you gone through some of the translated letters during that time? It might help for the setting if you did that. :-)
I read everything from the Russian Empire I can get my hands on! A lot was written by British tourists who visited the Empire on vacation, so it might be slightly biased....the British are notorious for disagreeing with a lot of what the Russians did in their empire, like letting women have a lot of rights, a lot of women in their empire wore pants, and the British also didn't like how the Russians didn't convert or outlaw the religions of their other owned nations and just let them do whatever they wanted, haha.
