Jocko Podcast Book Club discussion

This thread is for discussion of Brave Men by Ernie Pyle. Please post any thoughts on the book or Jocko's commentary and discussion in Podcast #39.

Just finished this. I loved this book - the stories of the men are fantastic. I think Pyle proves the old adage is that men fight simply for the man next to them, nothing more, nothing less. I got a used copy from Amazon and the last page had a hand written note. "May 29 - 45. Love from Mildred. Happy B.D." Assume that means happy birthday - but what a cool note that this was bought at the end of WWII.
