I have reached chapter 8 yesterday evening but didn't have time to read at all today unfortunately.😔 I'll try to make up for it this evening.
From what I have read until now, this book is on the way of becoming my favourite of the series. Despite not having Nighteyes in it.

Just finished chapter 13 and my head is practically spinning with all the stuff happening with Fitz. This time at least I feel he's not making mistakes but instead tries only to protect and care for the people he loves. And despite all that he keeps getting the short end and ends up miserably alone and blamed by everyone. I am so sorry for him right now. 😔

I'm on chapter 16. I agree with you. They act like he made such a huge mistake not telling nettle who he was and leaving her with her family but to me that was the right thing to do. I think he's been treated horribly this whole book :(

I have the same feeling. If I had been in his place I would have simply given up I think. I don't think there is even 1 single person who said he did well. :(
I also reached chapter 16 and am planning on a longer reading night after I put the kids to bed. Having a strong coffee just now to make sure I don't fall off to sleep to soon. 😁
Don't you think Nettle has a little bit of a mean streak? I mean it was not at all nice to get angry that way and get even Thick involved. And I wonder what's wrong with Swift. What's his problem to be so cross?! And doesn't the Fool understand!!!! It's all so complicated now.
And I am so happy I was wrong about Burrich cause he is one of my favourite characters.
