Normally the review period is one month per book, but let's try to wrap this up... two books, one month... sounds good. I will give more time if needed.

Round One Sept. 1 to Sept. 15

Round Two Sept. 15 to Oct. 1

I think, since the author needs the email address to email an electronic copy of the book, the reviewer should contact the author for the reviews he or she is doing.

1) Authors should be advised that only works that are polished enough for publication should be submitted.

2) Once a reviewer posts their review to Goodreads, they are expected to post this information to the review group topic. If the review is three stars or better, it should be posted to Amazon, as well. Amazon U.K. is an option if either the reviewer or the author wants it.

3) If the first reviewer feels that the review is worth one or two stars, he or she must contact the author for permission to post the review on Goodreads. In that case, the second reviewer is relieved of the responsibility to review the work, unless he or she has already read enough of the same book and feels it is worthy of a positive review, i.e. three stars or above, and wants to post it.

That should be do-able. I average one book a week, so - fellow authors, I've PM'd mine with my email address. Hit me with your works of genius!

I was assigned to read/review Death by Midnight by J.W. London. However, I have sent two requests for the material and have not heard back on either occasion. Since he signed up early on, I think 6/14, I wonder if perhaps he is no longer participating. Have you heard from him?

Okay, I have replaced J.W. London with Susanne Leist. Keep in mind, her book, The Dead Game is also a thriller and paranormal as well as a mystery, but I think we're flexible in this genre! Susanne will be happy to send her reviewers these books, and she will ask the authors she's supposed to review. Welcome Susanne!

What short memories we have! This author signed up in June also, which is not that long ago. We'll wait until tomorrow morning, then I'll see if I can find another author to take his place, same as last time.

I posted my review for The Doom Murders on Amazon and Goodreads, since it's a 5 star review.

This is the review:
I enjoy reading murder mysteries, where the clues are presented along the way and then are tied together at the end. If the plot has twists and turns at the same time, then I'm happy. This book delivers on both. The crimes are a little gory but if I don't have to actually see them but only visualize them, then I'm good. In the midst of the blood and gore, there are clues and a higher purpose for it all. The serial killer is following a higher authority--the Roman Catholic Church. And if people are naughty, then they pay the ultimate price.
This type of murder mystery has been done before but I haven't read one that takes place in Belfast. A city rich with culture, history, and religion. The book shows the city and its background. The characters are very colorful. I like the Chief Inspector Sheehan. He uses his gut to solve the crimes. He is torn between church and state but he performs his job well. He also shows a little of his heart to his love interest, Margaret.
The book has a lot of heart that it shows for its characters and city. I recommend the book for all die-hard mystery buffs.

Can you clarify exactly who I am supposed to read and review in Round 2? For some reason, I thought it was Keith McCarthy's THE DREADFUL SUMMONER. In fact, he sent me a copy on August 31. Now I'm seeing Brian O'Hare's THE DOOM MURDERS. Which one, please?

Hi Donna, it was Keith McCarthy originally, but he did not respond to other reviewers after sending you his book. Perhaps he had an emergency or something. Anyhow, yes, he was replaced by Brian O'Hare, so you will be reviewing the Doom Murders for Round Two.
