Hannah | 66 comments Tell us what you think of the ending to this amazing book series!

Belle ~carry on my wayward son~ (BelleWinchester) | 380 comments i was really sad about it *not gonna spoil incase someone hasn't read it (cough cough you really should if you haven't)* and i actually cried which is very surprising and an accomplishment to Veronica Roth because i NEVER cry for books. But yeah, i was bawling my eyes out. However, i think it was the perfect ending for the series and it really fit Tris and everything she stood for and wanted to be. My only problem was that Veronica wrote that Christina and Tobias fell in love 3 years afer she died. i think that is just rude and dishonorable to Tris. I mean i know that she would'v wanted him to be happy and that he had to move on and all but it shouldn't have been with Tris's best friend...

Belle ~carry on my wayward son~ (BelleWinchester) | 380 comments and i was kind of hoping for a happy ending for them. :*(

message 4: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 66 comments I totally agree. I never cry in book either, yet I did bawl my eyes out, for a number of hours after I finished it. And I totally the Christina and tobias thing!!!

Belle ~carry on my wayward son~ (BelleWinchester) | 380 comments Ruby wrote: "Lol, yeah, you were crying. So Belle is sitting on her bed reading, and I'm in there too, just hanging out. And then, she starts reading out loud, and she's reading Allegiant, and then she just sta..."

LOL. THOSE LAST TWO WRERE RANDOM. :P

Belle ~carry on my wayward son~ (BelleWinchester) | 380 comments okay woah there. lol. cussing at a minimum. (and yes, i know i sound like a hypocrite but still...)

Belle ~carry on my wayward son~ (BelleWinchester) | 380 comments Good good. :)

message 8: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 5 comments It was heartbreaking, but it really was the true meaning of sacrifice.

message 9: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 5 comments I didn't cry as much over her death so much as I did Tobias's reaction. That ruined me.

Belle ~carry on my wayward son~ (BelleWinchester) | 380 comments AcademyOfInstruments wrote: "I didn't cry as much over her death so much as I did Tobias's reaction. That ruined me."

EXACTLY!

OMG, YES! I was already bawling my eyes out when Tris died and then Tobias came in and if I didn't lose it then, I completely lost it after that. Gosh, I'm already starting to cry. It was a good book but I just wish there was a happy ending for them!

message 12: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 66 comments I know right!!!!!!

message 13: by Kelsey, Dean-Winchester-Awesome (new)

Kelsey | 572 comments Yes! It was just the worst. I can never stand the aftermath of anybodies death. It's like whatever was left of me they decided to break that too. Gahh, I'm gonna start crying again. *breathebreathe*

message 14: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 5 comments Also, I think it wasn't right for David to live. I know he didn't remember and all, but he shouldn't have gone unpunished for what he did to Tris.

message 15: by Kelsey, Dean-Winchester-Awesome (new)

Kelsey | 572 comments Yeah, I think he got away a little too easily. I mean I don't think he should've died but he should at least have to live with what he did to Tris. That whole mind-wipe thing was just to easy for him.

message 16: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 40 comments Ahhh nooo. While I admire Veronica Roth's originality, I sometimes wonder why a different author couldn't have been original on a series I care less about. All I wanted was for Tris and Tobias to live happily ever after. Or for Will to not really be dead. (This is something that I insisted on believing all through Insurgent and the end of Divergent. 'Oh, they were totally lacking in details on his death on purpose,' I said. But no. Really, Will coming back in Allegiant would have made it all better.)

message 17: by Kelsey, Dean-Winchester-Awesome (new)

Kelsey | 572 comments Yess! I'm one of the hugest believers in happy-ever-afters and the end of the book just killed me. I wanted them to be so happy, they completely deserved it. But of course that didn't happen. And me too! I wouldn't believe he died, I always thought it was just a trick or something to keep everyone motivated or it was going to be apart of some surprise at the end where he miraculously lives but gosh, they decided to pull out all the stops.

message 18: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 5 comments But it was something expected of Tris's character. She was never one to spree at the first taste of danger.

message 19: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 66 comments Totally!!! But I guess in real life, happy-ever-afters only happen in movies.... Or books, so far.

message 20: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 40 comments @Kelsey: Exactly. I mean, it wouldn't be too hard to write Will into Allegiant, would it? So everyone could be like, "well, Tris is dead, but at least Christina and Will are together!" Now that I think about it, not one romantic couple survived these books, other than I guess Shauna and Zeke.

message 21: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Speakman (missmorgenstern) | 5 comments And Uriah! I bloody loved him!

message 22: by MiMi (new)

MiMi (planetearthturnsslowly) I think it was sadder to read Four's POV after Tris died than her actually dying. Four like that was just heartbreaking

message 23: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 40 comments I know. That book is pretty much 400 pages of sadness, among other things.

No! That would've been the nicest thing to do! Will just being there would've made it slightly better! And yes, yes, yes. A thousand times yes. That book is the kind of book I would read when I need to put myself into a depression. It's just so ridiculously saddening.

message 25: by Kelsey, Dean-Winchester-Awesome (new)

Kelsey | 572 comments AcademyOfInstruments wrote: "But it was something expected of Tris's character. She was never one to spree at the first taste of danger."

I know, I wouldn't have expected any different from her but I just wish more people would've lived. It seemed like there was so much deaths for something so lack luster. I mean everyone would get away with it, the guy who shot Tris would get away with it, it just doesn't seem fair to her or to anyone else. *rant over* But yeah, Tris was really brave. I mean she kept pushing herself until the last moment and I'll always just love her for that. *sniffles* Goodness, happy-ever-afters need to be more common!

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

It was so sad! I won't spoil though.

message 27: by BriboSwaggins (new)

BriboSwaggins :) | 8 comments I cried... a lot. My bed was a waterfall...

message 28: by Kelsey, Dean-Winchester-Awesome (new)

Kelsey | 572 comments It was! I couldn't believe that happened! And oh goodness, my bed was practically a pool for weeks. I'm pretty sure we had to buy more tissues too.

message 29: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kuzmer | 55 comments I cried thinking about how Tobias was alone now that tris was gone and that now he had no family we'll except for Marcus but you know what I meen

message 30: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 4 comments I thought that the book and the entire series for that matter was terrific. Although the ending made me sad, I cried, it really made me think about things. Good job to Veronica Roth. Although I wish there was a happy ending.

message 31: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kuzmer | 55 comments Same here the whole series was a wonder to read but the ending was a little depressing

message 32: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 4 comments I thought it was sad and at the same time beautiful. This ending really made it real, and true. Although it was sad, it is what happens in real life. What did you think?

message 33: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kuzmer | 55 comments Well of course it was sad but the way it described her going into her mothers arms got me thinking that there was an afterlife and that Tobias and tris would eventually be reunited

message 34: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 4 comments Exactly!! Even though she had to leave Tobias, it gives the reader hope that they will meet later on. And that until they reunite, she will have her mother and father, and Tobias has his friends and mother.

message 35: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kuzmer | 55 comments Finally someone who understands my friend said that she hated the book just because tris died

message 36: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten | 4 comments Oh no! I could never not like that book because of how it ended! I thought it showed how it was real. I'm glad that you understand though!!

message 37: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kuzmer | 55 comments Me to that's why alto of people say they don't like allegiant and it upsets me

message 38: by Kaylin Behrens (new)

Kaylin Behrens I hate it when authors decide to kill main characters... it doesn't work for me... especially when you have had 3 books to bond with them...

message 39: by Kelsey, Dean-Winchester-Awesome (new)

Kelsey | 572 comments @Kim: Yeah, Tris definitely showed what true and honorable sacrifice is. Especially when she took her brother's place after all that he did and knowing what was going to happen to her, it definitely showed just how amazing she was.

@Kaylin: I know, this always happens to me! I'll love a character to pieces and then they'll die, disappear, or something completely awful happens to them. It's just so sad to even think about D;

message 40: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 40 comments Ah yeah it's so annoying you fall in love with them, and then they just up and DIE!!

message 41: by Kelsey, Dean-Winchester-Awesome (new)

Kelsey | 572 comments YES! That happens all the time! It's a wonder how more people don't end up more emotionally scarred! It just hurts the worst too when they're a super nice character that has done nothing but good things ;(

Belle ~carry on my wayward son~ (BelleWinchester) | 380 comments lol. agreed

Captain Cheesecake (cheesecakeisawesome) | 26 comments I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A WORD WITH THIS VERONICA!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my God... You are awesome! Sherlock is life! Two years for season 4 though... Two whole years...

message 45: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sophieiscraycray4books) | 34 comments I did overall enjoy the ending (though it was my least favorite book in the series) but I did give it 4 stars. I like that Veronica Roth had a new ending and made it realistic. It's just you know the fact that now if I ever re-read the divergent series there's going to be a voice in the back of my voice saying "but wait. She's dead." And you know Tris is like a hero and then she dies. Though I do really appreciate how the ending was realistic and different.

message 46: by Sabri (last edited Jul 11, 2014 08:57PM) (new)

Sabri (not_your_average_bibliophile) | 50 comments The ending was...

You guys are going to kill me in 3.. 2... 1...

Okay, then not okay, then okay...once you think about it.

I cried, and cried, and cried in Allegiant. Not because of what happened, but for Tobias... Anyways, I almost threw my book out the window, but then I remembered that the book was precious to me. I was really mad at Veronica. All of my OTPs can't happen because one of them always dies. Always. I guess Veronica Roth got alot of...reation...from her fans about this heart-stopping ending, and wrote the reason why the ending is the ending.

It's a spoiler though...
If you haven't read the book do yourself a favor and stop reading this comment before you make a regretful mistake...

Woww, I definitely love your explanation of that. I mean, I thought about it but the way you said it sounds so much better! ;) And yeah... I mean I didn't expect Four to declare himself single for the rest of his life, and I did want him to be happy even if it meant without Tris. But, Christina?? I would've been okay with anyone else, but him being with Christina just seemed kinda like a slap to Tris.
