Emmy (emmy205) | 99 comments Okay, so when I was in grade school, my school librarian had recommended a book to me. I can't remember what the title was, but it was one word, the name of the protagonist. This was in the 1990s or early 2000s, but the book looked older, so it might have been written sometime between 1970s-1990s.

The cover was yellow and featured a dragon sitting outside of a cave with a figure approaching him. The protagonist was a dwarf.

Emmy (emmy205) | 99 comments Hmmm....this looks interesting, but I don't think it's quite what I was looking for (although I'll be adding this to my to-read list!)

I THINK the title began with a "Y", but I could be wrong. Hope that helps.....

Emmy (emmy205) | 99 comments I don't recall a lot of color on the cover--as I said before, I think the background was yellow, but I think some details on the cover, like the dragon and dwarf, were white

Angela | 628 comments Dindle by Paul Fenimore Cooper, maybe? There's a picture of the cover on Amazon that seems to match your description.

WorldCat gives this plot summary: "
Dindle is a dwarf who grows up in a kingdom whose people are terrorized by Zoorndan, a ferocious white dragon. How Dindle slays the dragon, spurns as a reward the kingdom itself, and takes only the dragon's tail to creat a world of his own is told in this ... story."
