I am going to be doing alot of travelling the beginning of September, so I might not get to read this book until the middle or end of the month. I definitely will be reading it, though.
The film version of In a Lonely Place will be shown on TCM channel on Sunday Sept. 17 at 10 AM.http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/224/In...#
I have seen the film before, and have heard the book is quite different from it. Hopefully we won't have the problem we did with Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, with it being too identical to the film. One thing I remember from the film (it's been a few years since I watched it) is that Humphrey Bogart's character isn't portrayed as a good person. I love the actress Gloria Grahame, and she does a good job in this film.
Well, I broke down and bought the book. I saw that every copy of the book in my state's library system is checked out, with double holds on some of them. What made this book so popular recently?I'm enjoying the writing style alot. Lots of little hints so far about Dix and what he's up to, but nothing directly stated.
