Nathalia | 64 comments I am looking for a book that I had as a child in the 90s, about Fairies that live in trees and flowers, and that only children and those pure of mind can see. There might have been other mythical creatures as well.
There were elaborate pencil-colour paintings of the fairies, they usually wore something to match their flower/tree.
There was some sort of storyline, about saving the fairies I think. In the end the child does not see them anymore.

I read this book in German, not sure if it was a translation.
If anybody can remember something, I would be so glad, since I loved the book, but it went missing.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Maybe it was one of Ernst Kreidolf's books? I found some pics on Google that somewhat fit your description.

You can see one on his books here http://50watts.com/The-Dream-Garden

There is a short bio at the end of the book.

Nathalia | 64 comments Thankyou so much for the link. Even though this is surprisingly similar to the one I am looking for, it's not it. But now I have a new book on my list!

Laina (lshockley) | 196 comments Hello, I have some old books by Cicely Mary Barker, the ones I have are the fairies by season (Fairies of the Fall, etc.). The ones I have are poetry, but perhaps there is another of hers that includes a plot. The fairies are each specific to a tree or plant species, and they dress in coordination with their flower or tree. These were originally published in the 1920s so there may also be a derivative work by another author. Hope this helps!

R Bosy (rbossy) | 8 comments Is it one of Elsa Beskow's works, maybe? I don't know any of the translated titles, but I read "Blomsterfesten i Täppan" as a child. I couldn't quite recognize the story line you mentioned, but it might be from one of her other books!

The Flowers' Festival ("Blomsterfesten i Täppan", according to the Other Editions listed on Goodreads) by Elsa Beskow - Rebecca's suggestion
