This book was an emotional rollercoaster. I felt as if I was in Kaitlyn's mind. I understood her thoughts and responses to her classmates and adults she spoke too. She wanted them to speak clearly and say what they mean. Which I agree with, she took things literally and was made fun of for it. Yet she made something beautiful in the end and help everyone find the closure they needed. It was beautiful and I am recommending it to many friends.

I completely agree! In the beginning, I could not believe the book started that way! It was definitely an emotional roller coaster. Such a good book! The only thing I did not like about it was the ending. I felt like it ended with such good thing happening, but it ended so abruptly I was a little disappointed with that.I really liked how detailed the author was with Kaitlyn's thoughts. One thing I found kind of shocking was the way her brother died. I know this is a children's literature book, and I feel like if this book got in the hands of a younger student at a higher reading level, it could be a little scary for them to read about a student dying in a school shooting. It is a very real topic though, so it is important for students to be aware of the situation.
This has to be the most impactful book that I have read! I had never thought of how someone with autism sees the world. It allowed me to see life from a different perspective and will also help me with students that may have similar issues.

This book has helped me a lot on understanding how people with autism feel and think. Their minds are very organised, but life is life, and you never now what is going to happen next, you will always be surprised in a good or bad way, and all your organize mind will have to change. Really enjoyable, and good for future teachers to really get into the mind of someone with Asperger.
As my group mates have said, this book is an emotional roller coaster. I really enjoyed, and really recommend it to everyone, specially for future teachers, Is amazing how the author makes you feel as if you were in Kaitlin´s mind. How she thinks, how she feels about the situation she is going through, etc. Without a shadow of doubt I will say that this books bring you a life lesson. Life is not black and white, there are millions of colors, things happen and you cant have anything plan, you will always have to try your best and appreciate what you still have, even when everything seems to be dark.
