Same... I wasn't happy with the retconning at the start of this book, playing with the timeline of the epilogue of the first book...

Im only just now re-reading Assassin’s Apprentice. But doing so so that Im ready for this next month.

I am only about half way - I am really enjoying it, but I agree with you Jess - Fitz needs to man up a bit :)

I'm not enjoying this much. Fitz really needs to drop the self-pity act. I AM interested in (Ch12) (view spoiler)[learning about the Elderlings though. Seems like that may bring a lot of answers. (hide spoiler)]

So, im close to done (80% in). (view spoiler)[ I have a problem with Molly. She asks a lot of Fitz. Sounds like a child when she tells Fitz that he puts the King and Verity first before her. It’s like, yea, no shiz! Hes beholden to them! This relatioship isnt healthy, but I cant tell if the author is trying to portray it as that or if she wants this coupling to stay together in the end.

I'm at Ch 4 and now connecting with the story. I hope the self - pity act will drop soon, because there was a lot of that in book 1.

Don't count on it until about halfway, I'd say. It's still there but def not as prominent.

Finished! Loving the morbid ending!

Oh yes, he is a great character. Hard when he has to be, but kind as well. And animal-loving! +++++++100!

I finished, but it took me forever. I liked this book a lot. I just don't feel I have much to say about it. How odd is that? It just was a proper middle-of-a-trilogy book.

Love the characters, though Fitz maybe needs to man up a bit :)

I'm at Chapter 10, but I'm enjoying it. Still some questions are popping in my mind, like:

- Does Patience do anything else than stay in her room with Dentelle? I thought that she would have a bigger role in book 2?
- I've got this feeling that the Red Ship Raiders are still a shadow. You read about them, but it's all so vague.
- I have a feeling that Regal is messing with king Shrew's health, to take the throne.
- Regal can do whatever he wants at this point in the story without getting punished. I someone holding a hand above his head?
- I suspect that regal has something to do with Chivalry's death and that Verity isn't safe.
- Kettricken is a born queen, but yet she is forced to do nothing. Just sit there and be pretty and quite.

I'm putting a hold on this one. It deserves more attention than I have right now. I have to much books to finish.
