The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy is without a doubt, one of Douglas Adam’s best works. Arthur Dent, an earthling whose day is probably the worst in the history of the galaxy, wakes up to find his house being destroyed to build a bypass. Later on in the day, he hitches a ride to outer space with Ford Prefect, an alien from Betelgeuse, and the two barely escape the destruction of Earth, which was being destroyed to build an intergalactic bypass. As the two explore the galaxy, trying to reach the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, their random adventures are scientifically and comically satisfying, their adventures range from stick fish in their ears, listen to poetry from a space blob, and even meeting God, who turns out to be a powerless amnesiac. Douglas Adam’s writing style will amuse comedy lovers, and have them read and reread chapters again to understand what is going on, while also keeping them interested by infusing crazy theories about the question of life, the universe, and everything else. No other book compares to this one; It is an original classic that will break any reader’s tie for best book.
