Emo Tobias... he was so Emo and annoying in the last book. I'm guess he's going to be the same in this one.

I have only read the first one lol I am still reading Insurgent. I how this one does not give anything away.

Not sure that's a wise decision. It might give some spoilers even if it is a prequel. After all, Tobias's mother appears just in book 2 if I remember it right.

Well even if it does I will still read the rest. I love this series.

It was literally the hugest disappointment I had in all my "reading carrier". It didn't even feel like the same author had wrote it. That's why people who weren't so impressed with the first 2 books ended up liking it. Because it was a totally new story.

After that experience I've learned to keep my expectations low for all the YA series I'm reading, because it's hard to avoid them completely, but I am trying to stay away from most of them.

Oh. Well I guess I will have to wait and see. At least I know not to expect an amazing ending.

I'm currently reading this. I'm actually almost done. I don't think it's giving anything away though I haven't read the second and third books yet though I know what happens in the end. The first three Novellas take place before four meets tris just so you know.

I will be joining today to read this! I just have to finish - about 50% in, should be done soon!!

The Transfer (view spoiler)[I think this one was a great insight on how Four decided to change Abnegation to Dauntless. I also liked seeing how his name came to be Four. We all knew why but it was nice to see it play out.

This first one I liked. On to The Initiate (hide spoiler)]

The Initiate (view spoiler)[This one was a little longer than the first which I liked because it gave us more backgroud on Four. I liked seeing the relationship between Four and Amar. And when he died it hurt Four but he went on because he knew Amar would want that. And look where it got him top of his class! And I liked at the ending when he realized he was now a new person. I'm recieving my copy of Four early tomorrow morning, so excited.

Just finished Initiate! As expected it was amazing. (view spoiler)[I loved learning how he got his first tattoo. It was sad what happened to Amar. Also I still DO NOT like Eric!<\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I wasn't that impressed when I first read this, but now I'm even less impressed after re-reading it. It was boring, even more the second time. So many words for so little happening :( .
His dad beat him, he left Abnegation, he got the name Four. Know that! Next please!

This also bored me to tears. The only interesting parts were the ones about Amar being a divergent.

Not really, he got there because he's a divergent and could beat the fear simulation like no other... I'm not saying he didn't work hard, I just say that being divergent is a little like cheating XD.

This short stories seem like such an unnecessary side of the main plot. :(

The Son (view spoiler)[ This was interesting. Four learned his mother was alive and not dead. It was great seeing his reaction to seeing her. I HATE Eric but at least Four decided against the race for leadership.

I like seeing more of Four before meeting Tris. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Am I the only one who finds this boring? I mean, how did Four even considered that he could refuse both parts and still be safe. He is not in a position when he can just back out of it. He should have done his best to take the leadership position from Eric and try to pretend to be a pawn, but do the right thing.

I feel that he just ran away from both responsibilities... Also, his reunion with his mother was not that touching. (hide spoiler)]

Wish I could feel the same. Now I know that the only reason I liked Four was because Tris liked him.

Over I liked the book. (view spoiler)[For me Four was (and still is one of my favorite characters. This allowed readers to get a insight into his life from joining his new group to teaching Tris and her fellow friends. I found it interesting to see how Four handled the attack on Tris and what happened after the attack that we did not see. Overall it was good. (hide spoiler)]

The traitor
(view spoiler)[This is the first book told in fast forward from Four's perspective. If you haven't read the first book in the series and are kinda confused about what is going on, don't be, this book was never meant for you. It was another way of the author to get more money from her fans. This brought nothing to the main story and I hated it. Tobias is still whiny and boring just like in Allegiant. (hide spoiler)]

The Son: I am really sad that I can only give this one three stars. It was just so boring. Nothing new was learned, and the way (view spoiler)[Four's mom was introduced was just stupid! The transfer (view spoiler)[There wasnt much surprise to this one as it was basically a repeat of what Tris experienced except Tobias' father was really abusive and this practically forced him to choose a different faction to escape. The writing was gripping. (hide spoiler)]

The initiate
(view spoiler)[In this story Dauntless seems like a reckless group. I guess this is what drew Four into it in the first place, it's the complete opposite of Abnegation.
Was Amar divergent? I was starting to like that character and it seemed Four could become good buddies with him but Jeanine killed him off! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Four seems to be settling in and making friends. He's also showing little signs of rebellion against the whole faction idea. I like seeing the character growth. (hide spoiler)]

The initiate - I really liked this story
(view spoiler)[I really liked Amar. He probably was a Divergent if he claimed that in his simulations he just knew it wasn't real and could make things up to save himself in them. It was sad when he was found dead. No doubt the Erudite were responsible for it.

I loved Shauna and Zeke's friendship with Tobias. Being a stiff he didn't know how people showed their affections and he learnt a lot from these two which was sweet.

And yay for being first on the initiates board! No surprise there (hide spoiler)]

The son - (view spoiler)[Interesting how Tobias' mother reached out to him. I still think his parents are so crap at being parents - one lashes out at him and the other abandons him so he never knew what having an actual mother was like..

I love how Four followed his heart and didn't want to be a pawn to Dauntless and Erudite and decided only to be an initiation instructor

I liked the moments with Shauna and Zeke. They're such good company! (hide spoiler)]

The traitor - (view spoiler)[Tris and Tobias are so perfect for each other! I loved how she went through his fears with him in the fear landscape

This story just reinforces the crappy parents he has. I mean his mother knew that Erudite was planning something with Dauntless against Abnegation and his father doesn't even bother to believe Tobias when he reveals this piece of information to him
