If you like mysteries with strong, smart amateur female sleuths, fiction set in present-day Appalachia, Christian fiction that's not heavily "preachy," or all of the above, native West Virginia author Heather Day Gilbert's A Murder in the Mountains series might be worth checking out. I recently finished reading her series opener,
Miranda Warning, and my five-star review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... . (Woodhaven Press is Heather's own imprint.)

You're very welcome, Heather; and we're glad that you've joined our group! I know you're busy (what author isn't? :-) ), but I hope you'll find time to post in our discussions here when you can.For those who might be thinking of purchasing the newest title in Heather's series,
Guilt by Association, which was released on Dec. 9, you might be interested in knowing that she's donating half of her first month's sales of this title to Sparrow's Nest in Beckley, WV, a long-term rehabilitation facility for women with substance abuse problems, For more information, check out this link: http://www.woay.tv/local-author-comba...
Oops! Guilt by Association actually was released yesterday, Dec. 9, not on Nov. 14. (I'd gotten my information from a site that had the date wrong, but the Dec. 9 date was confirmed by Heather herself. I'll be correcting my message above accordingly.) This means you'll have through Jan. 9 to help out Sparrow's Nest with your purchase of this book!
Thanks for sharing, Werner! Yes, I am planning to contribute to this worthy shelter with half the first month's profits!

For anyone who's interested, here are my reviews of the second and third books of Heather's excellent series,
Trial by Twelve and
Guilt by Association: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... and https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... . These are all of the books of the series out so far; but series fans can take heart --there definitely will be a fourth book in the future!
