Reincarnation for everyone?

Daniel, We each have to decide on our own if we think reincarnation is a part of reality or not.
For one who used to be a "hard core atheist" and am now what I call a "spiritual atheist", to me, reincarnation is a fundamental principal of human reality. We come from the "other realm" by entering a fetus; stay connected to the consciousness field "over there" while living these lives, die and go back there, relax and recuperate, then come do it again. Groundhog Day-like.
I am convinced that Dr. Ian Stephensen, Univ of Virginia definitively "proved" reincarnation after 40 years of relentless research in 2500 cases. He focused on children (mostly in Asian countries) to avoid "contamination" of the data, so to speak. Here is a pretty good article but there is a lot of material on his work:

Dr. Jim Tucker continues his work, still (Stephensen died in 2007). UofVa, Uof Arizona, UofCal schools and a host of other universities how have some decent programs in these areas.
I wrote my novels based on past life regressions to previous (and some future) incarnations. This motivation came after reading 30-35 non-fictional books on PLR written by psychologists, psychiatrists, MD's who had no "ax to grind". They actually hid what they had been seeing and doing for years from their professions. When they revealed what they did in their practices with PLR, many were blacklisted and sanctioned.
After putting out my first novel I went back to school and became a certified/ registered hypnotherapist specializing in PLR. This was just part of the research, to me, so I could better understand the phenomena for the next 2 novels. It made it a lot easier to write on the topic - but BOY, did it ever open my eyes.
Real or not, I am AMAZED at what comes out of people in a hypnotic PLR session. If it is real, that is amazing and just validates reincarnation. If it is all fabricated, then I am equally amazed at how imaginative our species can be when extremely deep down in a slobbering near-coma-like trance state (joking). The wonderfully elaborate stories and minute details that people talk about from previous lives (real or fabricated) is very imaginative.
So if you have not guessed, yet, I am now a true believer in reincarnation. There are no doubt many incarnations for all of us. Hundreds if not more depending on your belief in "hybrids" (other planetary incarnations) and/or previous earth civilizations. YES, this can be a deep, deep topic that stretches a LOT of belief-systems, especially extremely dogmatic religions.
Vic and I had chatted about this off-line, but do some research on NDE's (Near Death Experiences - yeah the tunnel and light phenomena) and you will see the same threads of what reality really is. The people got a "peek" into that other realm.
There are lots of ways to experiment with the phenomena to validate it for yourself (or not), but the debunkers will debunk it all along the way - - - Yes, I used to do that before I "drank the Kool-Aid".
:-)

Dan and Bob,Thanks for your cool posts. Bob did a great job answering the question of approaching the reality of reincarnation belief. As with everything metaphysical and other-worldly, there's lots of compelling evidence to believe in, and strong doubts that can be applied to any of it. In my first novel on the subject, the central theme is this question of faith.
To add a little to Bob's excellent overview, the grand-daddy non-fiction work from a psychiatrist who skeptically discovered past life regression is Dr. Brian Weiss' Many Lives, Many Masters. I myself have been regressed by one of his disciples a few times, for research purposes, but also out of great curiosity. My experiences were not earth-shattering, but I knew enough about my reactions to meditation and other psychic practices that I understood my response to be typically cerebral for me, and not intensely visual or auditory. It was fascinating, if not dramatic.
Bob, what are your novels?
Best, Stephen Weinstock
Hi Stephen:My books are described here:

I did not realize until after the 3rd book in the Trilogy that I had loaded it with messages. I realized that subliminally you can send messages in fiction or non-fiction.
Book 1 essentially poses the question: WHAT IF all major iconic religious and philosophical figures were the same soul? Would we still kill each other in the name of our dogma?
Book 2 poses: WHAT IF I change sides on philosophical and religious dogmas, life-to-life? Would that change my view toward how dearly I held a position in this life?
Book 3 poses thought provoking questions on time, space, destiny... the whole quantum thing. Who am I and why am I?
Many of us in this group, being writers of reincarnation focused books, have a wonderful time-traveling tool in our writing toolbox.
Bob
Hey, Bob,Thanks for the book info. I'll check them out. Looked at your bio, and your life has definitely been a good story, too!
Great thread going here. Not surprised to hear you here, Bob, and I second your analysis on reincarnation. I heard something on belief in reincarnation lately that resonates: As with gravity, believing in reincarnation or not doesn't matter. If it is, it is, believe it or not. If it isn't, it isn't, believe it or not. Bob's summary of the science is a good one. I also recommend The Synchronicity Key by David Wilcock as a non-fiction presentation of reincarnation and related subjects, including NDEs--a heavy weight/.
Daniel wrote: "Hi all - members of this group are clearly open to the idea of reincarnation ... there seem to be a great many forms and I was wondering, what do you believe?Do we all reincarnate or is it someth..."
Don't forget the decades of actual research (60+ yrs) all over the world by Behavioral Sciences Dept of the University of Virgina. I believe they began with the intent to disprove reincarnation, but instead have compiled books of otherwise-yet-unexplained evidence in favor of, including recurring patterns. I understand Dr. Jim Tucker currently is in charge of the research (took over from Dr. Ian Stephenson--I hope I've spelled that right).Five Flowers
Hi Franki,Absolutemente on UVa.
I refer to their work (from Ian Stephenson to Jim Tucker and the other staff members) as having definitely PROVEN reincarnation of the soul. Of course, the skeptics will never accept that (whether they be religious, scientific or atheistic skeptics).
They have some fantastic clinical data in the thousands of cases.
btw, I have your book Dragonfly Dreams listed in the back of my novels as good reincarnation fiction to read... also on my website reference page. Hope I helped you some. :-)

Hi Victor,I was at the MESA IANDS (Int'l Assoc of Near Death Studies) chapter meeting on Friday night and Susan Amsden game me your card. She said she just met with you (the night before, I think) and you were asking when the heck I was coming to Tucson so we can get together.
We'll link up some day before too long.

I’ve an open mind on reincarnation. A few billion people believe it to be true, so who am I to argue? There are many people out there who are sincere in their beliefs either way….I’ve written a novel which includes a reincarnation theme. It is the focus of my next novel, too.
Yesterday: A Novel of Reincarnation
I’d be happy to do a Verified Purchase for any reincarnation authors out there. Send me a PM/Message. All you do is pay it forward!
No intent to offend anyone, so delete post if this one is out of line.

Do we all reincarnate or is it something that only happens under certain circumstances? And when we do reincarnate? Are there limits? Do you think we'll reincarnate once or countless times?
