Did you enjoy Spirits Abroad? Looks interesting, but mixed reviews. That Romanian vampire book looks fantastic!! I will have to see if there is an English translation.

And I loved Spirits Abroad. I think the reason reviews may be mixed is because it's quite obviously written for a Malaysian audience. There's no hand holding the reader through the slang or cultural intricacies, for instance, and there are a lot of both. Personally, I enjoyed getting dropped right in the middle of all that, especially since most of the stories are top rate, but I can see where it might be disorienting for others. I'll link my review in the other thread.
@Lilisa: Thank you!

Yeah but you never know!
Do you live in Romania? Or just read Romanian? (please don't read just as just. I tried to rewrite that 10 times, and it didn't work. You know what I mean.)

No worries! I'm fluent in Romanian, but I live in the US. If you do find a translation of it, let me know! I would still be surprised if there was one, but it'd be exciting to see something other than the usual make it to English. The stuff that most frequently gets translated tends to be "serious" literary fiction, and even then the selection is representative of only a tiny portion of the normally prolific Romanian publishing output.
Ah nice. I always thought there must be some great things that weren't being translated. And I will let you know if I find any translations.
Thanks for understanding my intent above, and not my badly garbled sentence :D
