I finished the book last night and quite frankly am baffled by the amount of 4 and 5 star ratings. With all due respect, this book was just not well executed for me. Would love to hear other thoughts about the book. The link to my review is below: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished last night as well and had very similar feelings. I am unhauling this from my shelf. I will not continue with this series =)

The book still hasn't made it to Darwin so ....... might wait for the school library to have it and not buy it with these reviews.

Yes! I totally agree!
Part of it may be that I'm too old for the book as well lmao =)
I’m actually enjoying this! It’s like Malorie Towers (Enid Blyton) meets Agatha Christie. I only read the first Shadows of London book by the same author and she seems to follow a formula. I’m halfway through now and am hoping nothing happens to lower my opinion..
Just picked this up at my favorite bookstore this weekend and hope to read it next week since I have another book club book to read by this coming Sunday. 😁 Interesting to see some weren’t exactly thrilled with it.
I just finished and while I enjoyed listening to it I’m a bit frustrated that there was no resolution to anything. I know it’s just the first book in a trilogy but I don’t think it was necessary to leave EVERYTHING so unresolved.
I listened to it and found it very hard to get into it in the beginning because of the narrator. I would say it was about 3.5 stars. I, also, feel like I could have had more of a conclusion. At least ONE mystery solved. Whether it's the riddle, the 1936 mystery, Hayes. There's a lot of moving parts. I will definitely read the next one in the series but I hope it has more of a resolution next time
