Sam (sammayreads) This months “crime” book isn’t actually about crime but it is all about death and different death rituals around the world. From here to eternity : travelling the world in search of the good death by Caitlin Doughty.

Grace Peterson | 5 comments I really loved this book and found it very interesting to learn about the different ways various cultures deal with death and grief. Honestly, it's giving me ideas for how I want to be remembered.

I loved this book. It was easy to read (despite the subject matter) and had me ponder both my own relationship with death and remembering as well as my family's as a whole. I did feel from about midway through that her "thought summaries" on western burial and grieving practices and all their faults were becoming rather repetitive and eventually really irritating. I understand that she wanted to express her view on western funerals but I felt like the point was made by chapter 3.

Alex Boswell | 2 comments I’ve quite enjoyed this book, it’s an easy read with the right amount and of humour for this kind of topic and it’s made me really interested in other cultures across the world. It brought up an interesting conversation with an Indonesian colleague of mine! Would rate 8/10.

Mari Ahokoivu I'm a bit late with this, but just wanted to say thanks for recommending this book, I really enjoyed it! It's a rare thing to have a book that is easy to read but talks about heavy issues.
