What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

a superhero group (who look like a justice league knock off) take over the world or country (not sure) after a war with the government and rule a dictatorship then one of them is murdered and another super who is not part of the group and despises them has to investigate.

It sounds similar to Rising Stars, a comic book series published in trade paperback.

It has all of the elements you mention though in a differing order. Some of the events don't show up until later in the series.

possibly but I don't think so and I have not read it I saw it on internet forgot about (don't know when that was) and remembered it a few days ago and can only remember the cover and blurb the cover showed the justice league knock offs in the background at the top.
