I like dragons, and from the first couple of chapters I can say that I'll remember Julius for a long time.
I have just bought this on kindle as a much more reasonable price than last month's choice. Hopefully will start to read it today. I love all things dragon related so looking forward to it.

is that good or bad?"
Oh, it's great. The story is really unique and a pleasant change of pace from all the epic fantasy I've been reading lately. Not very far in but really like the interaction between Marcie and Julius. The setting and the world this book is set in is also very unique. I am enjoying it so far.

I agree. Have read first few chapters and it reminds me more of the Dresden files than the usual dragon story. Enjoying the setting and the explanation of how magic came back to the world
I will confess I had a terrible time getting through the audio version. The narrator took everything I would have mentally suppressed while reading, shone a spotlight on it and cranked up the decibels (metaphorically, but also literally in some cases - with the decibels, not the spotlight).I can't tell if I would have enjoyed the story in a printed format. I think I might have. I know a lot of people especially like the narrator. I may give audiobooks one more go, but I'm coming to the conclusion that I just don't like to have stories read to me.
I'd kind of like to know what happens with the Heartstrikers down the road. Maybe some day I will try print, but I don't know if I can re-imagine the characters with the voices I would prefer.
