If anyone has a suggestion for our next book, please post it. We will have time to read reviews before our meeting.

I have two suggestions for our next book and Heft by Liz Moore is the first one. This book is available in paperback, the library has it and it was written in 2012. I read another book by Liz Moore, The Unseen World, which I enjoyed. There is also a book club discussion guide available. It is described as having larger-than-life characters and is about second chances. Secondly, my friend who doesn't have time to read very much at all, highly recommends A Very Expensive Poison: The Definitive Story of the Murder of Litvinenko and Russia's War with the West. It receives a very high rating of 4.29 on goodreads. My friend said she could hardly put it down. Please post any suggestions you have so we can explore our options and make best choice.
I have one to consider -- a friend's book group is reading My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologies by Fredrik Backman. My friend gave it a very high recommendation. I believe this author also wrote A Man Called Ove.
Awesome. I read A Man Called Ove and enjoyed it. He sort of reminds me of one of my new neighbors! Here's another suggestion which is what my old neighborhood book club in Austin read last. The Girl from Oto by Amy Maroney. I understand they all enjoyed it very much. Their next book is The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, but they haven't met on that one yet so don't know the consensus.
I'll have some book summaries and reviews on any suggestions at the meeting.
I just finished News of the World by Paulette Jiles, I think you recommended it, Linda! It was a quite enjoyable fast read!
I had it checked out, but had to put it aside. I'm back on the waiting list at library. Looking forward to reading it.
I've ordered and received Heft. Haven't had a chance to start it yet. Trying to finish a book loaned to me by my neighbor, The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O.. It's 800+ pages long!! So inbetween I need to tackle our latest group read -- Trevor Noah's memoir.

The first one I read is her most recent, The Unseen World, which was published in 2016. Her intelligence shines in that book.
I will continue to read whatever she writes.
