In the future, people are sent to Mars as a fatal disease quarantine, where they wait to die. (Seems an expensive way to deal with the problem.) A new arrival has a strange supernatural power, and all the dying want to take advantage of it. Sharing is good; Greed never pays, at least in stories.
Another Twilight-Zone-esque story. This was almost like something PKD would've written, except he would have mined it for laughs. I still thought it was one of the better stories in the collection.
I also enjoyed this one. A cliche when it comes to destroying the very thing you're fighting to own, but I liked the imagery such as the desolate Mars where people are sent to die (although at least one guy was sitting under a tree but I decided to picture a more Mars-like Mars) and also the unusual thing the people are fighting over.
