Claudia The narrator of The Tell-Tale Heart, whom is un named begins the story by explaining his guilt of killing and old man to the reader. There was no real desire to kill this old man, however just fear of his pale blue eye. Each night, the narrator would observe the old man while he sleeps and look through his room, however would never take anything. After doing this for seven days the narrator believes it is finall the righ time to kill this man. As the narrator arives late at night to the old mans apartment, the man wakes up and sits there nervousely as the narrator is standing in the room as still as can be staring at the old man. The narrator can then hear the heartbeat of the old man and is worried the neighbours will hear it, so he attacks the old man and then hides the remains of the body just beneath the floorboards. He then hears a knock at the door and later finds out that one of the neighbours must of called the police. Acting completely calm and normal, the narrator shows the policemen around the apartment and then soon after getting interviewed jiust above the floorboards of the remains of the bosy. The narrator can then hear a recognisable heartbeat of the man below them, he then gets very nervous and pleads guilty while screaming at the policemen to rip up the floorboards and to discover the old man laying beneath.

This short story was one of he most gut wrenching books i have ever read. Each night when the narrator stalked the old man it sent chills down my spine. The reasoning for the murder was very confusing and unusual, as to he randomly felt this need to kil the old man. When the narrator hid the man underneath the floor boards and little did the policemen know that the man was just underneath them, was i think the most terrifying part. When the narrator mentoned that he could hear the heartbeat of the man underneath him, it made me feel almost sick and i could feel his heartbeat in me. I was also very confused when the narrator was yelling at the policemen to rip up the floorboards, it was almost like he was scared of he did himself.
