Not surprised to see you here so soon, Sheila! I've got your no. 51 on my list and bookmarked your no. 52. It looks intriguing but as it's another long one, it'll have to wait until I've time to devote to it. I have checked out some of her other shorter works at AHA, which are pretty good. Didn't realise she was the author of Boots and Backpacks: Pride & Prejudice on the Appalachian Trail, Roughly at first!

Yes, that was one of the first modern variations I ever read - recommended to me by Anji, I believe - if my memory serves me right.

Anji, there are times when I enjoy some spice in my stories as long as it is tastefully written. The author managed to use a different approach each time and I enjoyed those. Thanks for the compliment.

Interesting premise for the story (Mr & Mrs B deceased, only Jane and Elizabeth but there's an elder brother, Longbourn is profitable, Lady Anne still alive, Lady C. is quite pleasant!) but the writing wasn't terribly good and the editing (apparently there was an editor) was pretty woeful. The story kind of meandered along a bit, too. I'm rather glad that my records show this was a freebie.

Well, so much for trying to cut down my TBR pile. I was able to get some of them read but there were so many interesting new ones available. Number's 58 & 59 will be out soon. I'm currently reading another work-in-progress by an author (one of the benefits of the trade as she is reading mine).

I've been having difficulty signing in to AHA. I think I wait too long in between so I have to start all over. Sigh!!! But please don't help me out as I don't need another source or I'll never get to my read pile, which is ready to topple.
