What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Looking for a book where three high school boys rape a young woman in a cabin in the woods, then try to drown her by putting her inside her car and pushing it into the lake. But she lives and eventually gets her revenge on all three at the peak of their adult careers. This is not the book by Sandra Brown. I read this book many years ago, and it's driving me nuts that I can't remember the author or the title.

Vikki, around what year did you read this book? This will help narrow down the search, and I find "many years ago" refers to different things in this large group.

Does the heroine have a romantic interest in the present time - is this a romantic suspense novel?

Thanks, Kris! It was 30 years ago. Maybe not still in print? The heroine did not have a love interest. This was a story about intrigue and revenge on the men who raped her, when they were at the peak of their careers and believed her to be dead, with no consequences to the incident that night.

I doubt this is the book, but it reminds me of Ghost Story by Peter Straub
