Sam | 8 comments The last chapter of Emma Goldmans book My Disillusionment in Russia has sparked a desire to find analogous books about the Anarchist/Makhnovist period in Ukraine.
Are there any other books on this (written from the inside) in the style of, for example, Goldmans book on Russia, Orwells book on Spain or Howard K. Smiths Last Train From Berlin which people here would recommend?

Chiaralletti | 2 comments Already read "La Révolution Russe en Ukraine (Mars 1917 Avril 1918" (Paris - 1927) by Nestor Makhno?

I have an old italian translation, but this should be the original title and you could find it.

My father is also reading an other book about makhnovism, new and in italian, but if you're interested I could find author and original title.

(hope my English is quite understandable... I never write here, but this is a really interesting topic)

Sam | 8 comments All I've read about the subject is from incidental remarks or accounts in books about other things, so I would appreciate anything you can throw my way.

I have now downloaded and printed Makhnos book, thanks for the recommendation.

Your English is very good and perfectly understandable.

Micah | 9 comments Voline's The Unknown Revolution, 1917-1921 is great and has a long section on Makhnovism (he spent some months with Makhno's army). Arshinov's History of the Makhnovist Movement, 1918-21 is also good, written by an insider.
