Challenges from Exploding Steamboats discussion

I think I have a murder mystery somewhere that fits this.

I didn't find the one I was thinking of, but Daughters of the Lake worked. It was an interesting concept with inconsistent execution.

I read The Mermaid which I've decided counts. There is a prominent fisherman/fishing aspect early in the book with enough references back to it that it meets my criteria for this topic.

"Fishermen, Randies and Fraudsters: Crime in the 19th Century Aberdeen and the North East" by Malcolm Archibald. There weren't an awful lot of fishermen in this book, but enough to satisfy me.
