I'm going to try out a word of a day thing here. Check back daily for a new word.

Day #1 Bonjour

Bonjour means hello or good day.

To break it down a bit 'bon' is good and jour is 'day'

Bonsoir means "good evening"
Bon is good
soir is evening

comment vas-tu? means how are you?

to break it down: comment means "how". vas means "are" and tu means "you"

#4 Enchanté(e)! – Nice to meet you! (a standard expression when meeting someone for the first time)

If I remember correctly the extra e depends on if the person is female or male. I can't remember if it's the person talking or the person being talked too though. :/

you can say" ravi de vous rencontrer" nice to meet you

Bonne chance means good luck in French!

au revoir means goodbye

merci mean thanks

je ne comprends pas mean i don't understand
