Hello,
my name is Ashley and I am one of the new moderators for this group. How would you guys feel about a little bookclub? I was thinking it would be nice to select a book together and to read it together.
At the and of the month we could discuss it together.

Who is up for it and what is your pick for the first book of the month?
I want to read Don Quixote and Bleak House this month!

Gary (calstock) Hi Ashley, I hope you enjoy your new role.

Personally I've read just about every Clothbound I'm interested in, although I haven't read DQ. Bleak House is a terrific book and a superb commentary on the legal system of the day. I highly recommend it to you.

Clothbound Classics introduced me to Dickens, (only a few decades to late perhaps !) and now I'm hooked. I've read 9 of his 15 novels in the last 12 months and am currently half way through the equally superb, "The Old Curiosity Shop".

I'll keep an eye on this thread and if there's anything I'd like to read, I'll certainly give it a go.

Camilla | 1 comments Hi Ashley - I think this is a great idea! I am quite busy at the moment, but I will also keep an eye on the thread and jump in if something interesting pops up - otherwise I will come up with a few suggestions at a later time.

I hope we can get this up and running. 😊

Hi Gary and Camilla,

Thank you for your enthusiasm. I hope more people will be up for this and we can start this February!
Until then I will keep me own resolution and I will read one of these pretty books. I'm reading Don Quixote at the moment!

Gary (calstock) Thanks. Having said I've read all the Clothbound that I wanted to, I'm now reading "Crime & Punishment" by Dostoyevsky. I've never read that author before, so we'll see how it goes. I read Anna Karenina last year, partly as it was billed in some places as the greatest novel ever written. I'm glad I read it, but boy was it hard work - Soooo melodramatic! Dickens wins over Tolstoy every day of the week in my totally amateur opinion.
