The Yahtzee Challenge- February 1, 2019- February 29, 2020

*Remember, you only roll once a month, and then read the required book for that month. There is one book required for each task.*You are welcome to join the challenge at any time. Please use the 'alternate task' for every month you have missed. No rolling allowed unless it's during the specified rolling time period.
Please post your completed alternate task book(s) and date completed in an empty task spot before the next roll date. You need to fill a spot before you can roll for the next month.
*This will be the place to check for the alternative task each month*February- Read a book with red or pink on the cover, or read a Historical Romance.
March- Read a book with a character who has a temper or who is grumpy (March Madness) or a book with orange or brown on the cover.
April- Read a book with blue on the cover or read a book that has something sad in the story (April showers (tears)).
May- Read a book with 'may' in the title, or a word that rhymes with 'may' in the title, or read a book with humor in it or a book with a 'funny' title or character name.
June- Read a book that has a celebration of some kind in the story or a Contemporary romance book.
July- Read a romantic suspense or military romance or a book with red, white or blue on the cover.
August- Read a book with what you would consider a 'hot' cover or a book with a sun, or sunglasses, or sand or the color yellow on the cover or the words 'sun' or 'sunglasses' or 'sand' or 'hot' in the title or series name.
September- Read a book that has a scene in a school, or has a school-aged child or teacher or disciplinarian in the story or a book with a vehicle or building on the cover
October- Read a paranormal romance or a book with a scary or dark character in it or a book with black on the cover.
November- Read a book where a character travels somewhere or a book you are thankful you have an opportunity to read or a book with an animal on the cover or in the story.
December- Read a book that celebrates a holiday in it or a book that you would want to cozy up with by the fire or a book with a light source of some kind on the cover (i.e candle, sun, bulb, fire).
January- Read a book you have recently discovered or a short book (100-200 pages)
February- Read the next book in a series you have started or a book that finishes up a series or a book that has an HEA (happily ever after) ;)
Q&AQ-For the "Chance" option re: new author...does it have to be a new author who recently published their debut, or does that just mean an author that is new-to-me/ never read before? Thanks!
A- It only needs to be a new-to-you/never read before author. I clarified the task in the opening post of the challenge :)
Q- For multiple Yahtzees, can we use 'Jokers Rules'?
A- Yes, we will use the Joker's Rules for additional Yahtzees. Those are the rules linked to the challenge in the opening post, so we will use those :)
If you have already rolled a Yahtzee and used that task, then you can-
1. First check and see if the number you rolled the Yahtzee with (ex. Yahtzee with 3s) is open..
2. If the upper area number is already taken (ex, 3s), then you may fill in any lower area task. (i.e. 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind, full house, large straight, small straight, chance).
3, If all of the lower area tasks are taken, then you can put the Yahtzee in any other upper section task that is open (i.e. 4s).
Even though you are putting the additional Yahtzee in another task area, you can still follow the rules for the Yahtzee- read any book of your choice!!

A big thank you to Juliet for the idea of using Yahtzee, the dice game, for a challenge.

Join us in our version of Yahtzee. This challenge will be held from .February 1,2019- February 29, 2020
It's a 13 month challenge, with the participant 'rolling the dice' once a month. The dice need to be rolled between the 25th of the month before and the 5th of the current challenge month. You will then have the rest of the month to complete that month's task.
Only one task can be completed each month. There will be no scorekeeping, instead, you will put the title of the book(s) and date you completed the task next to the task name. This means you have completed that task for the month and you cannot do the same task again.

Be sure to set the dice roller to 5 dice for your first roll.
Participants are to roll once a month. Using random.org, roll 5 dice. Re-roll only the number of dice you want to throw back. Do that again for the third roll. You may be happy with your first or second roll. There is no need to roll further.
If you cannot fit your 'roll' into any remaining task that you have, there will be an alternate task to complete. The alternate task will change each month. If you need to use an alternate task, please put the word 'alternate' in an empty task space along with the date completed.
Minimum page count of 100 pages unless specified for the task. Re-reads allowed, as well as audio-books.
Any edition of the book you are reading is allowed when determining page count
Please update your original post for this challenge. All record keeping should be kept to your one original post :)
It would be great if you could post when you have completed the entire challenge, at the end of the 13 months.
Yahtzee Challenge-

If your roll does not fit any of your remaining categories, read a book that has been on your TBR for longer than 6 months.
Example of a roll-
Using random.org / dice roller, I rolled 5 dice.
I rolled a 6,2,6,2,3
I will keep the two 6s and re-roll the other three.
I rolled a 1,5,3 - they don't help me so I will re-roll three dice.
I rolled a 3,4,5 - yay for me! I will use my 3,4,5,6 from my 3,4,5,6,6 roll and read the task for the small straight.
When I am done reading a book with a small number of reviews (less than 789 pages), I will post the date I completed it along with the title of the book..
