I read “When Breath Becomes Air” by Paul Kalanthini. This is a beautiful memoir. I laughed, I cried, I read it mostly in two sittings.

I may have to check it out! As of now, I don't have any book in mind for this category. All recommendations welcome!
Just completed "Everything is Wonderful and Horrible" by Stephanie Wittels Woch, the story of her dealing with the death of her brother from a heroin overdose. It was a touching, and sometimes comical, look at working through grief.

I just finished a book that I wasn't sure was a memoir until I actually read it. I picked it up from one of the library's return carts as it was waiting to be shelved. The title proved too irresistible: My Life with BOB: Flawed Heroine Keeps Book of Books, Plot Ensues (2017). It was unique in that she told her story from childhood to second marriage and kids through the book or books she was reading at the time. That aspect was enjoyable. The flip side was that she created most of her problems herself and were often situations that only someone who is raised with wealth could get into. 3/5 stars
