Hubby used to.
But let me tell you...comics is an expensive game to get into. You think books are bad? Comics are worse.

That's why I'm trying not to buy any. :)
:)He says its been awhile but he said that the comics he had access to were all old. And as long as you read more than 2 a month, you'll hit & pass that $72/year threshold.
Almost makes it more worth it to spend the $40 on the complete Saga collection..... Except, I'm the only one who'll read them. Ugh! My local library doesn't carry it. I checked.
I could try the service for the 30 days, but I don't want to have to rush through the series. I mean they're less than 200 pages each, but there are also nine of them.

No statewide system? That's how I read them when I was reading it.
My library system is broken into 3 parts:- local library: this is my local library. I can locate books here and either find them and pick them up or I can request holds and pick up.
-County where I live: this system is solely my local county and the library system only gives search results for this. When I borrow these books, they have to be sent to my local library for pick up. Generally very short time frame
-State where I live: this is an inter-library loan system. (Almost) All the books in the whole state system are listed here. When I borrow these books, they have to be sent to my local library system and then to my local library for pick up. Generally very, very long time frame. Up to 2 months or more sometimes but it can be quick.
The state system is generally where I have to go to get older/odder and sometimes newer stuff. But in my library site its hard to locate. And they always have different names.
We have local and county, but I'm not sure beyond that. We used to be able to borrow from our neighboring county, but that was discontinued years ago.
Nyssa wrote: "Well, I'm signed up with Libby via Overdrive, and I didn't see "Statewide" as an option."Do they offer Hoopla? My library has them available through them.
The thing is when I look up material it will say which app it's available on (Libby, Hoopla, RBDigital) but I'm not sure if every library system is the same.

I was checking. They only offer Libby, and Over

That was supposed to say "our" not "your" but of course, I didn't catch it before you quoted me...lol And yes, it does suck!
#1 - Jose tried out the free month of ComiXology, quickly determined that it wasn't worth it, and canceled it within a few days.#2 - I caved and bought the complete Saga Collection
The short version is that Unlimited really isn't. It's more that you'll get a few issues to start of a run, then you'll be required to purchase the rest of the story. If you want something esoteric, it's highly unlikely to be included in Unlimited based on simply browsing categories. For the money, Marvel Unlimited was a great deal. They're six months behind the paper publishing schedule, but I was able to read complete runs of most series put out since the 60s. The UI wasn't great, and the confusing series numbering and titling didn't help. cbr.com has reading guides for that, fortunately.

DC needs to learn from something Marvel did? You'd think someone in DC HQ would have caught on to that by now.

Hubby told me that he likes Marvel Unlimited, too.

It's an app which lets you download free comics. IT's a bit confusing to use at first, but it does work.

He is inhaling the Saga series...lol
I've put it on hold while I concentrate on other things, so his enjoyment now makes the $40 worth it.

I was duped, suckered, bamboozled, and hoodwinked by Kindle Unlimited into thinking they had the entire Saga, Vol. 1 Saga, Vol. 1 series available, but they only offer the first one under that service.
ComiXology offers it as part of their Unlimited service, but I'm wondering if its worth the $5.99 / month. Jose does not use the service but says that he heard that they would often only offer the first part of a comics run.
Does anyone have any experience with ComiXology - good, bad, or indifferent?
