C.S. Lewis' second book in the Chronicles of Narnia series is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, This is a book that fits into many genres: Christian fiction, fantasy, and horror. Two daughters of Eve and two sons of Adam- Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy- were four siblings who left England during the London air-raids, They were sent out to the middle of nowhere to live with an old professor, his housekeeper Miss MacCready, and 3 servants. On a rainy day when the 4 siblings had nothing to do they played hide-and-seek. Lucy, the youngest, came across a wardrobe filled with fur coats that led to magical land named Narnia. No one believed Lucy when she told her story. Peter and Susan, the two oldest siblings, spoke to the professor about Lucy making up Narnnia. One day the four siblings walked into the wardrobe to keep out of MacCready's way and entered the land of Narnia. Narnia was a magical land that Lucy did not make up. I picked this book because I wanted to see how accurate the movie was. I love the movie and the series of books that is the legacy that C.S. Lewis left us with. This is a great book for children who have an imagination and for adults who don't have an imagination because it makes YOU want to be in Narnia, if for no other reason, than to meet Mr. Tumnus. Great read!
