I just finished this for week 21. It applies to a number of the close call and polarizing topics but I ended up using "A book in which faith/religion plays an integral role in the plot or the life of a main character". It seemed to be a bit of a creative topic, rather than a more generic one.
I had a very similar reaction as Samantha, it seems. I flew threw it, even considering its length. The author definitely has great potential and I really enjoyed her writing. It reminded me a bit of the remake movie of Stephen King's It, especially given Beverley's bright red hair. But the ending and how it came together was a bit lackluster. Although she did earn redeeming points when she revealed that (view spoiler). I definitely didn't see that coming.

In any case I think it was good and perhaps my expectations were high so that when it didn’t grab me I felt let down. All in all it was a good book and I wonder if my 3 stars is a little unfair.
