Casey Paulucci | 9 comments This book was amazing and hilarious! If anyone has not heard or is unaware of Ivan E. Coyote. He/she is a spokesperson who travels to schools and conventions to speak about being queer or misgendered and what one might go through because of it. Ivan is a motivational speaker and is god damn hilarious! I enjoyed reading this novel simply because just like in my favorite book of all time it is a book made of short essays and stories. So when reading this book it feels like a lot is being accomplished. Which is awesome for me! “She worries because she fears what the world might do to you, and because she doesn't know any successful tattooed butch storytellers with biceps and a brush cut. Yet.” This was a quote that stood out to me when reading a letter to her younger self. It is not only hilarious when you first read it, but it has deeper meaning to that. Implying there is change coming, but just to be patient because it will eventually come. I would recommend this book to any older student with a more mature mindset. Some of the stories in this book needs a mature attitude when reading, but a lot of great things could be had from reading this book!
