Andie (thebookheap) | 208 comments Lizzie tells Jane about her change in affection for Darcy and for his intention to marry her. Jane is completely stunned and somehow disbelieves that Darcy has these intentions for Lizzie (yeah sure, you believe in Wickham but not Darcy!).

Darcy and Lizzie go walking together again and later that evening, Darcy goes to Mr Bennet to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage; the talk between Mr Bennet and Lizzie is really cute and once he knows about Darcy's part in finding Lydia, he is all smiles about it- apart from giving his favourite daughter away, of course. D'aww.

As she leaves, he tells her “if any young men appear for Mary or Kitty, send them in, for I am quite at leisure”

When Lizzie tells Mrs Bennet, I think it's the first time in the entire book where she is lost for words!

Alicia (A Kernel of Nonsense) (akernelofnonsense) | 54 comments I don't know what to do with a speechless Mrs. Bennet. I should have liked to have seen Mrs. Bennet fawning our Darcy since she has spent the entire book insulting him.
