Contrary to popular belief, Zacharias was not born a vampire. He was turned when he was in his 50's. Because of this, he still remembers exactly what it was like to be human, even after almost a thousand years. For this reason, he has a secret: he loves humans. He would go out of his way to protect a human, even from another vampire. Mr. Garsling doesn't feed on humans if he can help it, opting instead for pig, cow, or sheep blood. Quite to the point that he hardly ever talks, he is a patient listener, and often times his moods get the better of him.

History:
Most of his life he spent traveling until his parent’s demanded that he return home and run their company like he was supposed to be doing. He resented this very much until he met Molly and Prox Connelry who his parent’s had hired to be the “Face” of the business. He became close to them and when their daughter was born he was a little dismayed because as the child grew up she became attached to Markus, constantly teasing and harassing him, which stopped around the age of 8 when Markus’ parent’s talked to her about her “place” in their society. Markus began to miss her constant badgering and made her his human familiar to keep her close, he told everyone that it was to protect her but as she continued to grow he became attached to her to the point that he began to see her as his sister. Now he spoils her just like a big brother would and helps her out in tough situations.
