A friend asked me what the upper limit of that period meant. I'd consider definitely post-Renaissance, probably up to the early industrial era.



For the early demarcation, how far back do we want to go? Technically, to be historical there should be written records, otherwise it's pre-history, but we study many pre-literate cultures as part of the historical period.



Like I say, vague and amorphous.



Of course, please chime in if you have any thoughts on this.

Herman | 4 comments I created a book list and faced the same question decided my cut off date would be around the end of the Roman Empire about 4-500 ad
