Cold Fire is really fun. Probably more fun if you don't remember all the details of the story :-)

Cold Fire is one of my favorite Koontz's. One fun thing to keep in mind is that some reviewers see Cold Fire as sorta kinda being a superhero story. In this day and age of superhero flicks being all the rage (and I'll be honest, I love 'em!) it could be enjoyable to view your reading through that lens.

Most Definitely :-) I love the Science Fiction elements to this story. Probably the same reasons I like By The Light of the Moon, which is also a Super Hero story.

By the Light of the Moon is a top 5 favorite of mine!!!I so wish he would continue that story
Also the Christopher Snow books.....Seize the Night and Fear Nothing.....also kind of Superhero-ish!!
This being a second read, it reminds me Jim Ironheart is sort of like Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, a invulnerable & unconquerable “hero” helping others.
Just started my re-read tonight and am glad I decided to do so. I forgot how self-righteously angry Jim got during his "missions." Mr. Koontz, being the good little Catholic he is, cannot resist Christian imagery. There's a quick mention of how Jim is pricked by the thorns in a tumbleweed as he brushed by it which made me think of a certain crown… will be looking or more references like this in areas of the book outside of the long interactions between Jim and the priest in the desert.
Well, here we are in July and I haven't started the June Group Read. Still planning to re-read Cold Fire :-)
I thought Cold Fire was an entertaining read, but to be honest I found myself disappointed that (view spoiler)
I finally finished my reread. The heat is summer slows my reading a bit, so I got behind. I'm not sure if I will read July's book or just jump to September.

Thanks Susan :-) You're not the only one. I'm still re-reading Cold Fire. I'm even still re-reading From the Corner of His Eye which was featured earlier this year.

as in dreams,
nothing is quite
what it seems.
- The Book of Counted Sorrows
Cold Fire has been selected as our June 2019 Group Read. This is one of my personal favorites. Hope you'll consider reading or re-reading with us this Summer!
