Chava | 2788 comments This thread is for nominations for our October read. Some ground rules and kind suggestions:
1) Please check the read list before you post, as we don't want to re-read books yet.
https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2) Please check our previous nominations for inspiration.
https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

3) Strictly NO SELF NOMINATIONS. I will remove those when I notice them.

We will keep the nominations going until Sunday the 14th of September. Then we'll vote the old fashioned way: 2 votes each to be counted by the 29th of September. Okay that's the plan, let's hope nothing happens in between that messes up the plan :)

Happy reading all

She, and I have never read her either....

message 19: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) | 102 comments Ooohh, @Matt! Are you a fellow Reginald Hill fan? I just LOVE Dalziel & Pascoe! Dialogues of the Dead is one of the best. The follow-up book Death's Jest-Book is terrific too! Have you read it?

message 20: by Matt (new)

Matt Hughes | 65 comments Dalzeil and Pascoe fan I am. The Fat Man is a
One of a kind character. And Reginald Hill was not only prolific, but masterful with the genre.
But mainly, I can't get enough of the Yorkshire slang. "Summat" gets me every time the Fat Man uses it.

I agree, I've read all in this series. Some are better than others, but I always look forward to the next installment. They are rather gritty and at times a bit gruesome, but I like that :)
